Money is a Megaphone

Money Is a Megaphone Blog Post by Resources for Christ Foundation

Whatever your character is without money, it will be amplified with money. If you’re Scroogey when you’re poor, you’ll be Scroogey when you’re rich. If you’re generous when you’re poor, you’ll be generous when you’re rich. In both cases, it will just be to a greater degree. Think of money as a megaphone; whatever your platform, agenda, or motivation, money will always magnify your voice. It’s up to you whether that voice will be used for good or evil.

In 1 Timothy 6:17-18, God instructs us to “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;”

As Christians, we have a responsibility to align our motives, desires, and stewardship with God’s commands. Whatever financial position you’re in, ask the Lord to make you a generous and unselfish person and to use the money He has given you for His glory and for the good of other people. Whether you have just a small microphone or a complex state of the art sound system, use it to proclaim God’s goodness to the world around you.
